According to Booms, MIA's newly updated Code of Ethics "requires all members - natural stone producers, quarriers, fabricators, installers, distributors, and contractors - to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, quality, and professionalism." MIA has long set the standards for technical excellence in working with natural stone, he added. "Now, through our revised Code of Ethics, we are setting equally high standards for customer service. A fully satisfied customer is at the heart of the modifications we've made, and fair and honorable work practices and customer relationships will ensure our members deliver that satisfaction." The MIA Code of Ethics is posted online at www.marble-institute.com. It can also be requested by e-mailing info@marble-institute.com or calling MIA at (440) 250-9222.
MARBLE INSTITUTE OF AMERICA UPDATES CODE OF ETHICS
The Board of Directors of the Marble Institute of America, Inc. (MIA) has adopted an updated Code of Ethics that expands and more clearly defines the professional and ethical standards to be upheld by association members. "A growing appreciation for the beauty and lasting value of natural stone is driving tremendous growth within the natural stone industry, both in terms of the number of stone professionals and in the number of customers worldwide," said MIA President Richard A. Booms. "As the largest trade association for the industry and the leading resource for information and education, the workmanship and service standards set by the MIA significantly impact not only our members worldwide, but the entire natural stone industry."
