Stona 2004 attracted more than 360 exhibitors from all over India and overseas, according to show organizers. This included 15 Italian participants and 19 Chinese exhibitors as well as companies from Turkey, Egypt, Korea, China, Italy and Spain. A special pavilion was created at the fairgrounds for buyers and sellers to meet. This event drew an enthusiastic response from Indian and foreign companies in the stone sector. Over 50 participants from foreign countries and approximately 60 Indian companies participated in this event, where more than 150 one-to-one meetings between Indian and foreign companies were organized. Additionally, STONA offered Shilpagram, an Artisans Village, where artisans display new stone creations; geology seminars, architect seminars and a Stone Museum as well as the exhibition and product displays. Bangalore Stone Fair Draws An International Crowd
Stona 2004, the 6th International Granite & Stone Fair, was held from February 4 to 8 in Bangalore, India. The event was organized by the All India Granites & Stone Association and co-sponsored by the government of Karnataka; UNIDO-NPDSI and SSI Ministry, Government of India. The fair was supported by Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Commerce, Government of India; CAPEXIL, Federation of Indian Mineral Industries; IMM Carrara, Italy; and was approved by India Trade Promotion Organization, New Delhi.
