According to company chairperson and founder Henry M. Rothberg, Laticrete product research has always made an effort to produce secure installation materials. From solvent-free water-based waterproofing to FDA-approved epoxies, Laticrete continues to introduce products that are safe for the user, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. "I just wanted a product that was safe and non-toxic right from the start," said Rothberg.
Recently, Laticrete has been working to reduce material packaging in addition to creating thin-set mortar and grout products that contain low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC). "Laticrete has made a conscientious effort to reduce product waste," said Wayne Vieira, Laticrete Quality Assurance Manager. "We're using as little packaging as possible."
The company reports that the following Laticrete products tested with low VOC levels: Laticrete[R] 4237 Latex Thin-Set Mortar Additive, Laticrete[R] 211 Crete Filler Powder, Laticrete[R] 3701 Mortar Admix, Laticrete[R] 226 Thick Bed Mortar, Laticrete[R] 8510 Bonding Admix, Laticrete[R] 1776 Grout Admix Plus, Laticrete[R] Tri-Poly Fortified Sanded Grout (1500 Series), Laticrete[R] Sanded Grout (500 Series) and Laticrete[R] 317 Floor N' Wall Thin-Set Mortar.
