Association Representatives Discuss Future Of Natural Stone Council
Representatives of the Building Stone Institute, Elberton Granite Association, Indiana Limestone Institute, Marble Institute of America and NBGQA met on March 31 in Itasca, IL, to map out the future of the Natural Stone Council (NSC). Formed in the spring of 2003, the purpose of the NSC is to promote the use of natural stone over the myriad of artificial products in the industry. The group discussed prospective programs, including the branding of natural stone and the development of literature to be distributed through the sponsoring associations and their members. The group also proposed a management structure and reviewed the by-laws, which will be distributed to the entire board for their approval within the next few weeks. They also reviewed the layout of the NSC booth at the upcoming National AIA Show in Las Vegas, NV, which takes place from May 19 to 21. Look for further information on this group as their future plans develop.
