The 9th edition of Tektónica, the International Building and Construction Fair in Lisbon, Portugal, saw a 6.3% growth in visitor numbers this year. The event took place from March 27 to 31 at the Parque das Nações in Lisbon, and it was visited by 52,094 trade professionals, exceeding the 50,000 predicted by show organizers. There were more than 800 exhibitors, and 93% of them expressed their intention to come back for the next edition.

The aim of the event was to boost exports from Portuguese exhibitors, with visitors from 31 countries who found offerings in stone, ceramics, metal, wood and cork. An “Innovation Space” was a unique area for innovative ideas for the construction materials market, and an architecture prize was also awarded.

Among the various seminars was the “World of Stone” session, which was supported by the Assimagra trade association.

The next edition of Tektónica will once again be held at the Parque das Nações in Lisbon from May 20 to 24, 2008.
