NEW YORK, NY - Cosentino, a world leader in quartz surfacing, and one of the nation’s largest natural stone importers, recently hosted a successful editor’s launch and evening cocktail reception in New York City to launch ECO by Cosentino, a revolutionary new line of countertop and surfacing material composed of 75% recycled material. The launch was held in the stylish glass penthouse of the Chelsea Arts Tower, in the heart of Manhattan’s contemporary art district. Renowned designer David Stark curated an artful exhibition of intriguing sculptures showcasing ECO’s raw materials. An 11-foot-high “75%” sculpture filled with shards of porcelain, glass and mirrors made an impressive impact immediately as guests entered the room, representing ECO’s high content of recycled materials. In addition, a colossal tower of porcelain sinks and ceramics, a giant glass bottle made of over 500 individual glass bottles and a rain cloud of reflecting mirrors made a provocative statement and highlighted the huge quantity of recycled materials Cosentino utilizes each year in the manufacturing of ECO.
The program continued into the evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for more than 250 leading industry professionals and New York members of AIA (American Institute of Architects) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). The event was successful in introducing a highly qualified crowd of environmentally conscious architects and designers to the new product.
