"In addition, we have looked at returning show features and strengthened them to be equally as appealing and useful to our attendees."
Surfaceswill introduce new show floor features in addition to the most popular returning areas such as Artisan Avenue, Tool Alley, New Product Marketplace, Trends Hub, Cleaning and Restoration Pavilion, formerly known as Connections Pavilion, and S2 Theater, formerly known as the S2 Main Stage. The new areas added to the SURFACES show floor in 2013 include the Business Enrichment Center (BEC) and NWFA Hardwood Flooring Pavilion and Lounge.
TheBusiness Enrichment Center (BEC), sponsored by GE Capital, is designed to be a mega-center of activity, offering a hip space for attendees to network, relax, and learn. Features of the BEC include the Education Stage, sponsored by WFCA, which will offer free 45-minute presentations on business topics such as sales, marketing, finance, and business management, the Social Lounge where attendees can experiment with blogging, tweeting and mobile apps, a cash bar, and an electronic charging station. Floor Trends will be presenting their mobile app in quick 15-minute segments in the Technology Trends are.
Dedicated to hardwood flooring products and NWFA members— current and prospective— the NWFA Hardwood Flooring Pavilion and Lounge will allow for networking and browsing among new manufacturers and suppliers of innovative hardwood products.
StonExpo/Marmomacc Americashas various show features returning to the show floor in 2013 including The CAGE, Marmomacc Pavilion, and Stone Pavilion. In addition, StoneLIVE Stadium will be introduced at the 2013 show.
StoneLIVE Stadium, sponsored by GranQuartz, will be located across the aisle from The Cage. Featuring a cash bar, attendees can grab a drink and relax on the bleachers to watch The Cage’s down-and-dirty demos via live streaming and big screens.
Free on-floor education and demos can be found in Tool Alley, Trends Hub, Business Enrichment Center, Cleaning and Restoration Pavilion, S2 Theater, and The Cage. DIY Network’s do-it-yourselfer and host of Cool Tools, Chris Grundy is returning to Tool Alley to present side-by-side with participating exhibitors delivering tool demos.
