CASTELLON,SPAIN -- After a successful first run in 2014, TheSize, manufacturer of Neolith, a sintered compact surface, announced its second international competition for architects, interior designers, remodelers and students.
The competition is broken into three editions -- Europe, America (North and South America) and Worldwide -- with two competitions per edition: "My Neolith Project America" for professionals and "Neolith New Talents" for students. All entries will be judged by a panel of notable professionals in architecture, interior design and construction, such as architect, Luís Vidal, of the Interior Designers Association of Valencia and the Spain edition of Architectural Digest magazine.
In order to qualify for the "My Neolith Project America" contest, professionals must have completed a residential or commercial remodeling project that utilizes Neolith in a creative way, and which highlights the product's versatility through its use as a countertop, flooring, façade, wall cladding or as another unique application. Architects and designers will be evaluated based on originality, creativity, technical complexity, overall design and environmental impact of the completed space. The winner of this competition will win an all-inclusive trip for two to Living Interiors 2016, a prestigious European interior design show located in Cologne, Germany. To submit projects, professionals can send images to myneolithproject@thesize.es with the "My Neolith Project America" in the subject line.
Students, who wish to submit projects for the "Neolith New Talents" competition, will be competing under the theme "The Neolith Restaurant of the Future," designing an innovative restaurant and kitchen space with Neolith as the primary surface. Judges will make selections based on the originality and creativity of the proposal, as well as the unique ways Neolith is proposed for use. The winner of this competition will receive an all-inclusive trip for two to the 2016 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, NV. Conceptual projects can be sent to neolith_newtalents@thesize.es with "Neolith New Talents America" in the subject line.
Professionals and students may enter their projects for consideration now through December 1, 2015. Winners for both will be announced on December 15, 2015.
