The 16th Xiamen International Stone Fair will be held from March 6 to 9, 2016 in Xiamen, China. Taking place in the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, the fair will cover approximately 1.9 million square feet of exhibition area with more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world. Among them, 73% are Chinese companies, while the other 27% are from foreign countries. Several American companies such as Coldspring, Laser Products and the MIA+BSI, as well as Stone World, will be among the exhibitors.
Four exhibition sectors will be set up at the event, a domestic stone area, machinery & tools area, international area and outdoor area. Stone companies account for 77.5% of the total number, while machinery and tool companies occupy 22.5%. Each year, more than 153,000 professionals gather at the fair. For 2016, 30% of the exhibitors are companies who didn’t exhibit before. This year’s event will also feature stone companies from 56 countries and regions.
The fair will feature the national pavilions of Turkey, Italy, Brazil, India, Iran, Portugal, Egypt, Spain, France, Germany, Finland and Greece. The World Stone Congress will also take place at this year’s event. The World Stone Congress aims at communication and cooperation of the global stone industry.

Sustainable Natural Stone

Learn about the new ANSI approved Standard for the Sustainable Production of Natural Dimension Stone (developed by the Natural Stone Council, this standard is also known as NSC 373). This session will provide general knowledge on the objectives and principles of the NSC 373 Standard. Flooring, Finishes and Friction

While the properties of natural stone haven’t changed over time, the technologies of hardscape surface applications have changed immensely. This session will familiarize attendees on the basic stone types and methods for installation commonly found, the surface finishes applied to these natural stones and the measurement techniques used to evaluate the frictional properties of the material as well as their influence on pedestrian safety.
