OBERLIN, OH and CHESTERTOWN, NY —The Women in Stone program is now accepting applications for a scholarship providing a one year all access pass to the MIA+BSI webinar series. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 29.
The Women in Stone webinar scholarship was created to help women advance their careers in the stone industry through education. It supports the program's mission to recruit, retain and advance women in the stone industry.
"One of the goals of Women in Stone is to be an essential partner in the success of members by expanding on existing educational offerings," said Kim Dumais (Miller Druck Specialty Contracting), 2016 co-chair of the Women in Stone steering committee. "Not only will the recipient of the Women in Stone webinar scholarship have the opportunity to gain valuable technical and practical knowledge, she will also gain knowledge in effective communication strategies key in establishing successful relationships within all aspects of our industry."
Past webinars in the MIA+BSI webinar series have covered safety, communication and leadership skills and design trends.
Applicants must have less than five years of experience in the natural stone industry, work for an MIA+BSI member company for at least six months prior to applying and be employed by an MIA+BSI member company at the time the award is presented.
