CLEVELAND, OH --Multistone Inc. based in Savannah, GA, and Wilbedone, Inc. dba Stone Central, headquartered in Syracuse, NY, are the two newest members to join the best practices trade council. This stone fabricator group consists of top-producing stone industry executives from across the U.S. with a focus on sharing business intelligence through best practices. The Rockhead Group USA, LLC (RGU), publishes a best practices report for its members each October and maintains a stone fabrication best practices online database.
"The time spent in Chicago networking, presentations and on-site visits were invaluable to our organization," said newly minted member, Blake Christensen, of Valley View Granite in Tremonton, UT.
The summit featured two site visits -- a tour of The Countertop Factory in Addison, IL, and the M S International, Inc. (MSI) distribution center in Elk Grove Village, IL. The summit was held during the Coverings conference in Chicago, IL, to assist members in maximizing their value in attendance. Over 50 industry executives attended the summit.
The Stone Executives Spring Summit is slightly different than the two annual RGU retreats held in the winter and summer. "The RGU retreats are two-day intensive education sessions with multiple presentations and a key note speaker," explained CEO of RGU, Dr. Dawn Kennedy. "The retreats may also include segments for production and sales managers. The summit is a half-day session focused entirely on a singular best practices concept and RGU updates."
The RGU continues to grow in membership with applications.
Founding member Jon Kaplan, of Stoneworks in Cleveland, OH, explained why fabrication executives are attracted to this type of trade council. "The stone is the stone,” he said. “It's the people, processes and equipment that determine success in the stone fabrication industry."
