New York, NY-- Cosentino, a global leader in natural stone, quartz, recycled and architectural surfacing, joined the global gastronomy community as a sponsor of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2016, held in New York, NY, at Cipriani Wall Street. The 15th annual event marks the first time it has been hosted in the U.S, and the sixth time Cosentino has returned as sponsor of the awards.
During the gala celebration, which declared Italy’s own Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana the World's Best Restaurant 2016, Cosentino presented "A Taste of Dekton," which partnered with New York purveyor Ample Hills. At the event, chefs, restaurateurs and food industry professionals enjoyed gourmet ice cream prepared by Ample Hills atop a display of Dekton to illustrate the ultra-compact material's unique ability to withstand extreme temperatures and heavy usage without scratches or stains.
"It's an honor to sponsor this global event for the sixth consecutive year and reaffirm Cosentino's support for the international culinary community," said Lorenzo Marquez, vice president of marketing for Cosentino North America. "Chefs from around the world, many who were honored on this list, use Cosentino materials in their kitchens because of the technical and aesthetic features offered for such a demanding environment. We're pleased to celebrate them and the trust they place in our products at The World's 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony."
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants brings together a unique community of extraordinary culinary talent to celebrate global gastronomy. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants global tour will continue in 2017 in Melbourne, Australia, to present the next edition of the list and awards.
