BOCA RATON,FL -- Q.E.P. Co., Inc. announced they will be making a friendly donation in the wake of the recent flooding in southern Louisiana. The donation is being made to ToolBank Disaster Services, a mobile unit of disaster response professionals in association with ToolBank USA.
Over the past month, prolonged rainfall has left the state of Louisiana in a state of emergency as an estimated 146,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed, according to the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. It has been named the largest natural disaster in the U.S. since Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
Many relief organizations have been sent in and are working tirelessly on the ground to help residents rebuild their homes and their lives. Q.E.P. was approached by ToolBank Disaster Services, in search of safe and reliable tools to expedite the process and help residents return home. Q.E.P. gladly agreed and sent beyond the request.
The disaster relief donation made on behalf of Q.E.P. includes floor scrapers, Nupla 8 lb. and 20 lb. sledge hammers, and Nupla square shovels.
ToolBank Disaster Services is a national non-profit organization that equips volunteers in disaster areas with the proper tools needed to repair where there has been destruction. They were overjoyed to receive the generous donation from Q.E.P. "These tools will definitely increase the productivity of the volunteers on the ground," said Matt Walenciak, Director of Disaster Services.
