Alpha® introduces the VDP-700, a new 7-inch heavy-duty variable speed polisher designed for stone fabrication, restoration and maintenance. The VDP-700 is equipped with a powerful 1,250W motor and an industrial-quality gear system for the most demanding, heavy-duty polishing applications. It offers a speed range of 750 to 3,500 rpm with a soft start and constant speed control functions. To minimize the power loss by using an extension cord, the VDP-700 includes a 25-foot/14 awg power cord for the direct connection to the power source, which can cover an entire kitchen. The VDP-700 offers two different handle styles along with an ergonomically-designed lightweight composite body to ensure the most comfortable operation, in the fabrication shop or on the jobsite. As a part of this new system, Alpha also offers foam pads and wool buff- ing products for the various polishing needs.

BVC Group, Inc. has added additional heights to their product line as of 2018. The company debuted the additional sizes at the TISE 2018 show in Las Vegas. BVC has added three sizes of vacuum cups in 200mm and 160mm height. The sizes include 200x200mm, 200x400mm and the narrow sink rail vacuum cup at 50x400mm. The 500mm Series Cups from Blick Industries were created with the serious countertop producer in mind. The 500mm length allows a 25-inch-deep countertop to be spanned by one suction cup, leaving an optimum amount of clearance for tools on the front and back sides. The Scorpion Soft Bond Finger Bit is ideal for hard stones like granite. Hard stone requires the finger bit bond to be softer, so that the diamonds are exposed sooner to cut the stone. Softer stones are milled best with a finger bit that has a harder bond matrix so that the diamonds are not exposed as fast. Specs and benefits of the Scorpion Soft Bond Finger Bit:

The Cyclone Ultra Cup Wheel from Diamax is a new grinder designed with a waterproof fiberglass backing. This fiberglass backing absorbs vibration, giving you a clean, smooth grind. Its light weight allows it to be used on pneumatic polishers, as well as angle grinders. It is available in coarse, medium and fine grits. The coarse and medium grits are great for prepping seam joints, miter clean ups or creating beveled edges on granite or engineered stone. The Zoller Smile 3.0 is a CNC presetter that will give you exact diameters of your CNC profiles, which is key to setting each position up with recommended stock removal parameters.
The Zoller Smile Pilot 3.0 will save machine time on the initial set up of new profile tooling by getting precise measurements within minutes, while your machine is free to work.
Most fabricators may “eyeball” how much stock each position is removing, but with the Smile 3.0 each position can be set within the recommended parameters. With this accuracy you will increase the life of your tooling, and also decrease premature shape loss. The Smile 3.0 will also assist with making adjustments after tool wear becomes a factor. Once tooling becomes worn and is not creating a quality edge you can measure the diameter of each position and adjust accordingly.

The Proliner digital templating tool got even better with the introduction of the 4th generation Proliner software. The updated user interface introduces application based apps, like the dedicated app for measuring countertops. The measurement settings and available functionalities within each app are tuned for the job at hand, which simplifies the measuring process and ensures accurate results.
Measurement editing functions are further improved and new functionalities have been added, like the ability to add text labels to cut-outs, profiles and other library-items. Fabricators can use this to add extra processing information to a PDF-report. From now on it is also possible to apply customized CNC machinery presets of DXF-output formats to export files.
Proliner software Generation 4X also brings improved connectivity by adding another means to send Proliner measurement files from location to the factory. These automated edge polishing wheels are designed with color holders for easy ID, universal snail locks and hexagon attachments to make them easy to change. This heavy-duty vacuum pad is equipped with a replaceable sealing ring, providing a quick and cost-effective way to replace sealing rings damaged by rough surfaces. The sealing ring simply slips into a channel on the face of the pad and stays in place without the need of adhesives, making it possible for the vacuum pad to conform to textured surfaces, including hammered and sandblasted slabs, without leaving marks.
