OBERLIN, OH -- Natural Stone Institute (NSI) members have provided natural stone and fabrication services for 15 specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans through their support of the Gary Sinise Foundation R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment).
“Being involved with the R.I.S.E. program enables our industry to take a leadership role in supporting these veterans and their families who have endured so much to protect our freedoms,” said Laura Grandlienard of ROCKin’teriors, who is chair of the NSI R.I.S.E. committee and project donor. “We feel tremendous pride in sharing our talents for such an important cause. It’s a beautiful feeling to say ‘welcome home’ to these heroes.”
In addition to the homes completed since this collaboration began in late 2016, NSI members are also involved in 10 other home building projects currently in development. To date, 41 NSI member companies have been involved in this program.
“We are honored to support this worthy cause, and are grateful that so many members across the country have stepped up to use natural stone for good Natural Stone Institute,” said CEO Jim Hieb.
