Eclectic, versatile, functional: Lapitec's full body sintered stone will be vaunting all its potential at KBIS, an important sector appointment for Italian companies, which will be held from 19 to 21 February 2019, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year, the stand (stand SL1037, South Pavilion) at the American tradeshow will be a celebration of the material’s ability to ‘bend’ to the creative whims and technical needs of architects and interior designers alike.

“The fundamental concept behind the display is to recreate the impression of a large public space. A square, featuring large structural elements and furnishings made from Lapitec  slabs in various formats, creates a ‘landscape’ that invites the visitors to lose themselves, touching and exploring the different materials and finishes. It’s a very eclectic material and this is why we wanted to show different situations that express Lapitec's versatility and its wide variety of applications in both architecture and design,” comments Devvy Comacchio, the architect who designed the stand.

In fact, the stand has been thought-up as an open space with tall slabs and a formal and aesthetic clarity that highlights the multiple qualities of sintered stone, which will be showcased in four different categories: spa, bathroom, kitchen and coverings.

The Lapitec wellness spa

A relaxing space with an ‘architectural silence’ that creates a peaceful haven far from the noise and stress of the outside world. This is the sensation that emanates from the refined and elegant wellness space showcased at Las Vegas, proposed in a striking contrast of Nero Assoluto in the Vesuvio finish. Meanwhile, the bathroom area has been given a bright and airy mood by the Bianco Assoluto, Lux-finish slabs, resulting in a chromatic duality and aesthetic continuity with a bold and unique stylistic imprint. The showcase has been further enhanced by the Gessi taps and fittings, for a high-impact finish that marries perfectly with Lapitec stone.

Kitchen aesthetic continuity and flexibility – indoors and outdoors

A go-to material for the kitchen sector, Lapitec will also be the feature of three different kitchen producers’ stands. The first is a Giza kitchen by Maistri, ‘dressed’ entirely in Bianco Assouluto, Lux-finish, from the worktops to the wall and floor coverings. The stand will also be the stage of a show cooking event, where visitors can get to see the enormous day-to-day functionality and durability of the kitchen and materials first-hand. Whereas, for the Italian-American company Interni Cucine, Lapitec will be using Velvet-finish, in the Berlin shade (launched in 2018), for the worktop surfaces. Finally, Grigio Cemento, Satin-finish, will be the material of choice for an outdoor kitchen display. The company’s stand will also be showcasing Orion, a built-in sink designed in-house, which will be presented in three different colours options (Bianco Assoluto, Bianco Polare and Grigio Cemento), again coordinated with Gessi taps.

Full-body floor and wall coverings: the magnitude of Lapitec slabs
Alongside the kitchens and bathrooms, Lapitec will also be used to ‘construct’ the vertical panels of the stand, In fact, Lapitec's large-format slabs are ideal for covering large areas and facades, becoming not only a construction element but also a means of expression that provides designers and architects with a wide variety of solutions for adding their own personal imprint to every project.
