Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology has made its mark on stone design and fabrication. With computers controlling the machines, stone fabricators produce intricate inspiring creations with exact precision once thought impossible or too costly to achieve.

I think we can all agree, there is an inherent beauty to natural stone that most people find desirable for both residential and commercial designs.

While times change and trends come and go, natural stone remains a popular choice in both residential and commercial design. Stone World recently had the opportunity to talk with a few experienced architects to ask their opinion on a range of issues related to designing with natural stone.

Renowned Catalan chef Albert Adriá's vision took shape when 2017 Pritzker Prize winners RCR Arquitectes in colaburation with P.Llimona drew their design idea in watercolors and decided to bring it to life with the help of Neolith by TheSize.

Originally based in Phenix, MO, the Phenix Marble Co. first opened in the early 20th century. At the time, it was one of the largest producers of stone and marble in the country, employing 250 workers.
