Lapitec is a full-body sintered stone slab that comes in a variety of colors and finishes. It is also an extremely dense product which leads fabricators to wonder, “What are the options for tooling when working with the material?” The tools required for cutting Lapitec has to have some unique characteristics.
It was completed just a few months ago and has already received the recognition of the Interior Awards 2020 in the category "Renovation of apartments over 100 square meters": Iridou Attikou Apartment, designed by the Greek studio AK Praxis, occupies the second floor of a complex of the 50s, in Athens, and overlooks the National Garden and the Presidential Palace, not far from the Acropolis with its monumental ruins.
The onset of Covid-19 has imposed a forced reorganisation of work practices all over the world, and although on the one hand the professionals have suffered a severe impact, on the other doors have opened onto new frontiers of communication and information.
Produced in large-format slabs (3365 mm in length), Lapitec is the first material with an identical surface, edges and internal composition to come on the market. The full body sintered stone, composed of a mix of 100% natural minerals and developed by the Italian company of the same name, is distributed in the Midwest by the American Granite Company.
Lapitec is closer than ever to planners, designers and architects. From 1st October 2019, the Italian company’s full body sintered stone slab has become available for BIM software.
