Dawn D. Totty is a native New Yorker, and lived there for all of her life before moving south 10 years ago. She started designing in the fashion world, and then transition into interior design 15 years ago. She designs residentially and commercially. Her signature claim to fame is very custom designs.

Top leaders in the stone and tile industries came together to exhibit their newest innovations at the international stone and tile exhibition, which was held this year in Atlanta, GA. The event took place from May 8 to 11, 2018. Below are a few examples of the products that were featured at the show.

The international stone and tile show filled the expansive exhibition hall offering numerous displays of new stone and tile collections, innovations in product lines for stone and tile care, maintenance and installation, as well as fabrication machinery and tooling and accessories for stone fabrication.

Being recognized for a job well done is a wonderful feeling, isn’t it? Wouldn’t it be even better if that recognition was worldwide? This recognition is what is offered by the Natural Stone Institute’s Pinnacle Awards program.

The International Surface Event (TISE): SURFACES | StonExpo/Marmomac | TileExpo, an Informa Global Exhibitions event, and VIBE, an a2z company, are collaborating to bring a multi-day-long event for VIP buyers and sellers in a deluxe hosted environment at TISE 2019.

As you flip through this issue of Stone World, you will notice a subtle difference in its aesthetic, as well as its feature offerings. While our staff and I didn’t want to make any drastic changes, we thought it was time for a bit of a makeover.

Material handling and keeping track of slab locations can be an afterthought for fabricators at times. When it does take center stage, fabricators may use an excel file or pencil and paper to keep track. There are options, such as Slabsmith software, to do it online through a cloud-based system.

Ten outstanding tile and stone projects have been selected as winners of the Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards, which honors exceptional design and installation of tile and stone in the categories of Residential Stone, Residential Tile, Commercial Stone and Commercial Tile.

Coverings, the largest international tile & stone show in North America, has announced the winners of its 2018 Best Booth Awards. The program recognizes the standout booths based on their design, creativity, display of product, use of space and overall presentation.
