industry's commitment to sustainable architecture in the public spotlight,
Ceramic Tiles of Italy will be a prominent contributor to this year's Green
Builder ReVISION House. Presented during the International Builder's Show from January
12 to 15, 2011 in a private Orlando, FL,
residence, the project will showcase green building materials in a complete
retrofit renovation led by interior designer Patricia Gaylor. Sponsored by the
Italian Trade Commission, Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of
Ceramics) and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the house will be
filled with sustainable ceramic tile from Italy's leading manufacturers,
including Casa Dolce Casa, Emilceramica, Floorgres, Cooperativa Ceramica Imola,
Marazzi, Ragno, Refin and Trend, as well as grouting and adhesives from Mapei.
VALENCIA, SPAIN -- In November, Tile of Spain launched the
second edition of the "Reign in Spain" A&D Tour campaign to
select four architects and designers to participate in its annual trip to Spain
to learn about Spanish tile. Over the course of the month, Tile of Spain
received more than 70 quality applications from firms large and small in all
regions of the country -- a 60% higher return over last year. After much
determination, the four winners were announced. They include: Bob Borson,
an Associate Principal and architect at Bernbaum Magadini Architects in Dallas,
TX; Andie
Day, an award-winning interior designer who owns a boutique
studio in Boston's North End; Scott Knudson, Vice President of
Design for Wiencek + Associates Architects + Planners, which has offices in
Washington, DC, and Gaithersburg, MD; and Lira Luis, a global American
architect specializing in organic architecture.

VERONA, ITALY -- The
46th edition of Marmomacc, the world's largest international trade show for
stone, will be held from Wednesday, September 21, to Saturday, September 24,
2011 at VeronaFiere in Verona,
Italy. While the trade fair has been held in early
October the last few years, the 2011 dates are more traditional of years past,
according to show organizers.

YORK, NY -- Cosentino, a global
leader in natural stone, quartz and recycled surfacing, announced the
appointment of Eduardo Cosentino as the new CEO for Cosentino North America,
which has been under the leadership of founder Roberto Contreras Jr. since its
inception in the U.S.
This comes after the Cosentino Group acquired full ownership of Cosentino North
America at the end of 2009. Contreras will support the transition through the
end of 2010 to then pursue new ventures.

magazine will once again hold PROJECT: Green, a competition open to architects, designers, builders,
contractors, distributors, retailers, manufacturers and installers. Winners will be announced during Coverings,
the U.S. stone and tile exhibition which is scheduled to take place from March
14 to 17, 2011 at the Sands Exposition Center in Las Vegas, NV.
VALENCIA, SPAIN -- Last winter, Tile of Spain launched the
"Reign in Spain A&D Tour" program to select four architects and
interior designers to participate in a free, week-long architectural tour that
visited various regions of Spain
as well as Cevisama, the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Show held
annually in Valencia, Spain. And due to
the program's initial success, the Reign in Spain is once set for 2011. And now, the tour qualifies for a minimum of
4.5 AIA CEU credits. The four winners (who will be announced December 10, 2010)
can earn these credits while on the trip through a three-part series consisting
of seminars and a factory tour.
