Contemporary Stone & Tile Design caught up with designer Alena Capra of Alena Capra Designs in Fort Lauderdale, FL, at Coverings 2021 to gain insight into what is trending in tile designs these days. 

While I have seen booked-matched slabs form shower and bathroom walls, floor-to-ceiling fireplaces and even used as an interior accent wall, I have never seen ones used so creatively as a striking headboard in a bedroom.

While it might not have been quite the crowd of exhibitors and attendees that typically fill the expo floor, Coverings 2021 was certainly still a successful show. After having to reschedule last year’s event in New Orleans, LA, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coverings greeted industry members at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
