Polycor Inc., the largest quarrier of natural stone in the world, today announced it has reached an agreement to acquire North Carolina Granite Corporation (“NCGC”), a leading quarrier and producer of granite for the construction, curbing and aggregate industries.
Stone+tec, the International Trade Fair for Natural Stone and Stone Technology, will not take place as planned from 12 to 15 May 2021. The trade fair could have been held in compliance with the hygiene concept of the Bavarian State Government in principle, however the number of registrations did not develop as hoped due to the difficult worldwide situation currently.
The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for another home through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment). The R.I.S.E. program builds specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. To date, Natural Stone Institute members have been involved in thirty completed homes.
