69,000 trade operators from 154 countries and 1,650 companies from 62 countries attended the 54th edition of Marmomac. After four days at Veronafiere, Saturday was the closing day for the world's landmark exhibition in the natural stone, machinery, processing technology and applied design sector.
In less than a year it will be that time again, when the 21st round of Stone+tec takes place at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 17 to 20 June 2020. This international trade fair for natural stone and stone technology is where industry experts gather for professional knowledge-sharing. They can also look forward to a diverse supporting program. As well as special shows, panel discussions and high-Caiberpresentations, several awards ceremonies form an integral part of the event. Stone+tec receives active support from major industry associations.
Attendees at StonExpo/Marmomac at The International Surface Event (TISE) in January 2020 will notice more natural stone on display than ever before. A new Natural Stone Pavilion will debut prominently in the middle of the show floor. The pavilion is strategically positioned near the Natural Stone Institute booth and adjacent to the Marmomac International Pavilion, which will also include several natural stone suppliers.

Natural Stone Institute is pleased to announce that accelerated weathering testing is now available through the testing lab’s recently acquired environmental simulation chamber. This test method is used to determine the level of strength and fabric degradation caused to a natural dimension stone by exposure to repeated cycles of freezing and thawing in a near saturated condition. Accelerated Weathering tests are often required by project design and engineering teams in regions that experience high numbers of freeze/thaw cycles.
Natural Stone Institute (NSI) members have provided natural stone and fabrication services for 15 specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans through their support of the Gary Sinise Foundation R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment).
